I love slicing a sweet potato and baking it in the oven to use as the base for my sandwiches! Don’t think I don’t eat bread.....I eat that too....but this is a delicious way to mix it up and give my body more nutrients. This combo right here is one of my favorites. Add another for more calories or eat additional sides (yogurt, fruit, and so on).🍠🍠🍠🍠🍠

Ingredients:
Slice of sweet potato
1 egg
1/2 a tiny avocado
Avocado spray or other oil spray
.
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400. Slice your sweet potato long ways. Spray with a little oil. Bake to desired textured. Cook your egg. Mash avocado. Load them up on your potato and enjoy.

Ingredients:
1 can garbanzo beans
2 Tbsp peanut butter
2-3 Tbsp cacao powder
2 Tbsp maple syrup
7-8 Tbsp water
*Chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions:
Place everything minus the chocolate chips in a blender. Mix until smooth. You can add less or more water to get your desired consistency. Once mixed, top with chocolate chips (if desired). Use your favorite fruit to dip in the chocolate.

One thing my clients and I work on is being aware of what is in our food. For example, knowing that salsa has a lot less calories than guacamole. But also that guacamole has healthy fats that keep you full. So, it’s not always bad to eat the food that has more calories.
.
So if you are making a burrito bowl, you can pick and choose what you want and still stay on track. If you want cheese that’s fine, but get salsa instead of the guacamole. If you don’t want the cheese, you can get the guacamole for your fat source instead.🌯🌯🌯🌯🌯

1/3 cup yogurt
1 eggplant
Cilantro for topping
Salt and pepper

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Peel and cute eggplant to cubes. Bake in the oven for 30-40 minutes. Once cooked, place in a blender with yogurt, salt, and pepper. Mix well. Top with cilantro.

Caspian is as obsessed as you can be! We took him to the fire station this weekend and he got a full tour. He was so excited it was priceless to see. The firemen are so amazing! They were patient, kind, and so friendly. We will be going back for sure🀣 Oh and they loved the brownies Caspian baked them.

I love both homemade and store-bought pudding! My favorite flavor would have to be vanilla! When I’m picking treats I do tend to make my own most days. However, when I do want store-bought, I go for it!πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹

Granola can be really high in calorie! But it doesn’t mean you have to give it up. There are tons of crunchy toppings that you can alternate between. One day have granola but have pomegranates the next. You can also try nuts and seeds (a good source of fat with no added sugar)!

You don’t always have to measure your food or track it. After you do it for awhile, you learn your portions. It’s simple and gets you the results you want😊😊😊

You can still stay on track and lose weight even if you have some weeks where you can’t meal prep or are traveling. There are so many ways you can do this. Here are some examples:
🍎You can buy protein bars and pair them with a fruit
πŸ₯ Buy prepackaged nuts and pair them with a fruit
πŸ§€ Buy individual cottage cheese cups and have them with some veggies or fruit
πŸ“Have a serving of Greek yogurt with some fruit and nuts for a crunch

Left picture: a bar plus an apple. You can always add more calories by getting a larger apple or adding some nuts.

I was searching for a name for my account. Since I believe in β€œeverything in moderation,” I came up with β€œGrapes to Crepes.” I believe you can have anything from fruit to a Nutella stuffed crepe as long as you are doing so β€œin moderation.”

-My name is Pardis DeFord and I’m a registered dietitian. I worked in a clinical setting for 3 years.

There are no foods you have to avoid or must eat to lose weight! It’s all about balance and portion control. If you love bread, eat it, just watch how much and how often you are eating it!πŸ•πŸ•πŸ•

Pita Pizza Ingredients:
Whole wheat mini Pita bread
2 Tbsp cheese
2-3 tomato slices
2 mushrooms

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375. Add all ingredients on top of the bread. Bake for 5-7 min. Then broil for the last 3 minutes.

Mushroom Pizza Ingredients:
1 mushroom cap
1/4 cup cheese
1/4 to 1/3 cup sauce
.
Preheat oven to 375. Add sauce to mushroom and then cheese. Bake in the oven for 8-9 minutes and broil for an extra minute.
