@healthywholefood ULTIMATE HYDRATION smoothie bowl 💦 to help a bit of an unhappy tummy 😞 fresh aloe vera and papaya to help soothe the gut plus electrolytes and probiotics from @medlab_clinical ORSBiotic rehydration solution - this stuff honestly savvvved me when my stomach was a bit off a couple of days ago and i will now be putting it straight in my travel supplement bag because an electrolyte solution WITH probiotics sounds like the bloody ultimate travel sickness savior to me🙌🏼😂

IN THIS JUICY BOWL 💧 
1 cup frozen mango
1/2 cup fresh papaya 
1/2 cup frozen raspberries 
3cm chunk fresh aloe vera
2 tablespoons coconut yogurt 
1 cup coconut water
1 teaspoon maca powder
1 scoop ORSBiotic

Blend all the above ingredients until desired consistency is reached and top with alll the yums🤤 this tasted like a damn TROPICAL paradise and i wish i was in bali on a beach digging in 😂

@healthywholefood it’s Tuesday night and i’m currently sitting in bed with a tea processing photos (yes this is what most nights look like 😂) but i i’d rather be digging into this vegan Italian spread and this lychee cocktail right now....🍕🤤 there is a whole VEGAN dedicated menu at @therococogroup which is so bloody awesome to see becoming more prevalent in mainstream restaurants so those of us who choose to eat a more plant-based lifestyle can go out and not have to alter an entire dish to suit our dietary preferences 😂 i pretty much rolled out of here after chickpea dip, sweet potato fries and a potato pizza - such an epic spread🙌🏼

@healthywholefood You guys asked for it so here it is - sharing some more paleo based meals that i make for family and friends ☺️ while i eat mainly plant based those around me don’t (and as plantbased eaters we have to be more MINDFUL of this and not so judgmental...), so i like to be able to make them veggie packed, healthy meals with protein options they choose and you guys voted that you wanted me to share these options with you because at the end of the day we dont all eat the same and i want to help you guys eat as healthily as possible 😍 .

For both the environment AND our health we could all do with cutting down our animal protein consumption. BUT we all do this at our own pace so even if you’re currently aiming for three plant based days a week that is a bloody awesome step in the right direction 🙌🏼⚡️ THIS is a great example of how your plate should look, LOTS of veggies accompanied by a reasonably sized portion of protein (yes im looking at you you 4-scrambled-egg -omletters 😂) our bodies simply just dont need the mammoth size of animal protein that we have been conditioned to believe we need!! After the photo was taken an avo + tahini dressing and pumpkin seeds were added for some healthy fats 🙌🏼 LOTS of micronutrients in this bowl to keep your body functioning efficiently, inflammation down and your immune system high! I had the same thing but with tempeh🤤

@healthywholefood 3 day LIVER CLEANSE done thanks to the best @karmiccoldpressed my digestive system has had a MUCH needed break and my body has been able to absorb all the easily available nutrients from these cold pressed juices 🌱 veggie juices are such a fantastic way to give your cells a bucket load of nutrients that are readily available and already broken down (thanks to the juicing process and having the fiber removed) so its a great way to give the body a break from constantly working to digest food whilst still feeding your cells with optimal nutrition!⚡️ as you all know juicing is a HUGE part of my daily life and has been a key in next-levelling all aspects of my health and a little 1-5 day juice cleanse always leaves me feeling my absolute best✨with spring and summer coming up they are my favourite times to cleanse as it always feels super intuitive and natural for me to juice in the warmer months when my body cravvvves cold hydration 💦

*cleansing HOT TIP ‼️ - make sure you’re still drinking enough HIGH QUALITY filtered water (the best bench top water filter ive found so far is @waterscofilters their filter technology is absolutely INCREDIBLE 🙌🏼💦) - i will do a separate post another day on why i filter my water and why its so so important! And in the winter lots of hot herbal tea and homemade broths can really help make the cleansing process easier and warm your body up 😌

@healthywholefood dreaming of this VEGAN burrito bowl tonight that i made a couple of weeks ago 🌮 i dont usually use vegan fake meat alternatives but i was also making this for other people and wanted to show them HOW GOOD vegan substitutes can taste and that they’re not missing out!🙌🏼 I actually didnt tell them i used vegan mince until the end of the meal and they all thought it was traditional beef mince so thats a HUGE WIN for the animals and the planet!✨ if people in your life aren’t completely on board with plant based food or protein sources a high quality vegan meat substitute is a great way to gently introduce them to this lifestyle🤗

A big bed of rice 🍚 topped with lettuce 🥬 , red cabbage, avo 🥑 , corn 🌽 and @organicvillagefood plant based mince which i cooked with onions, capsicum, black beans and taco seasoning (IT WAS UNBELIEVABLE!!!🤤) FULL of veggies, healthy fats and high in protein from the vegan mince and black beans - this is such a perfectly balanced meal and tastes like the real deal!!

@healthywholefood this is a HUGE breakfast MOOD this morning - alllll the peanut butter and allll the jam on fresh sourdough with alll the toppings 🤤 honestly what more could you want?! Pb and jam will never fail me it’s honestly one of my favourite toast combos and always satisfies my sweet tooth - its even a great dessert option 🙌🏼 as always I stick to high quality ingredients because if you’re using processed oil and sugar filled  PB and jam its not going to be such a great way to start your day.... same goes with the bread you choose! 🍞 i love sourdough because it’s mildly fermented it digests great for me and i always buy freshly made bread from local grocers or bakeries! There is almost always a healthier substitute for the foods you love so i promise you you dont have to go without! 🤗

For this mornings brekky i used @mayversfood smooth peanut butter (just peanuts and a touch of salt thats it!), @bonnemaman_au strawberry spread with some fresh beautiful @woodfrogbakery sourdough, organic banana and all the cacao nibs and goji berries from @nutsaboutlifeaustralia ⚡️⚡️ delicious. satisfies my PB&J cravings and keeps me feeling good and my tummy happy!😊

I digress... lets touch on perfection and this totalitarian view that SOME influencers/people in general preach.... i learnt a very valuable little lesson a few years ago, from my older brother actually when i was much younger, and that is to never say something is ‘100%’ or preach or talk about a topic with that extremist viewpoint because in reality as you evolve and grow and LEARN your views and opinions will most likely change... and i have put this mentality into practice ever since✨OF COURSE be PASSIONATE, have a belief system, have goals and have an opinion but be MINDFUL of the way in which you convey these things and never close yourself off to one belief system and ALWAYS know and be understanding of the opposing information - things are very rarely black and white and closing yourself off to that notion of thinking is actually doing you and others a disservice 💫 and even better if you have a strong belief system the way in which to covey this to others effectively is by understanding and acknowledging all standpoints with empathy and kindness 😌

It’s so important to be able to prioritize yourself and have little rituals and routines that nourish YOUR SOUL because at the end of the day you cant fill up other people’s cup if yours is empty 💫 for me lighting a candle and having a bath is such a sacred practice and time i can truly have to myself with my own thoughts - including crystals in this practice is something i have done for a long time and something that truly helps me re-balance and re-charge 💧i find so much peace and comfort in the ability to re-focus or shift energy through crystals ✨

@healthywholefood lets talk IRON and a plant based diet because you can have the best of both worlds!🙌🏼 so there are two types of iron HEME and NON-HEME - heme iron is only found in animal products (meat, poultry, seafood) and is more readily absorbed by the body where non-heme iron is found in plant-foods! 🌱 you might be thinking well why wouldnt i just eat animal products then? 🤷🏼‍♀️And the answer is just because non-heme iron isn’t absorbed quite as well it doesn’t mean we can’t get all our dietary iron needs from plants! .
This salad is LOADED with iron coming from a big bed of wilted kale and spinach (under all the lettuce), spirulina crunchies (spirulina is an AMAZING source of iron) and @organicvillagefood chickpea and linseed tempeh which has around 6.2mg of iron per 100g serving (as a comparison point beef has around 3.5mg of iron per 100g serving so tempeh wins!)⚡️ so this meal is jam packed with iron and all round extremely nutrient dense with sweet potato, tomatoes, hemp seeds and @gagasforguthealth sauerkraut for added probiotics to support gut health and digestion ✨ honestly this is a perfectly balanced meal! I drizzled with loads of lemon 🍋because vitamin C helps with the absorption of iron, a maple tahini dressing 🤤salad HEAVEN

@healthywholefood lets talk EATING OUT and following dietary/lifestyle choices and goals ✨ i used to stay away from eating out because i would get anxiety eating meals that I hadn’t created and didn’t know exactly what was in them but i am so bloody happy those days are behind me because 1) eating out is fun 2) its social and such a special and important time to spend with family and friends and 3) it’s so nice to eat different meals created by other people and try new things!🙌🏼 .
I’ve told you guys before and ill say it again, i’m a serial ‘menu alterer’ but compared to where i was a couple of years ago i roll with the punches a lot more these days when i eat out and as long as its plant based i am a HAPPY GIRL! 😍 don’t get me wrong i still sub little menu items and make alterations here and there and if you’re following a certain dietary goal there is absolutely a time and a place for being a ‘fussy orderer’ (as i used to call myself and absolutely embrace it😂) but being more flexible when it comes to eating out has not only given me mental freedom and allowed me to be more social but its also introduced me to some of the best meals I’ve had🤤 .

@healthywholefood veggie poké bowl plus the BEST sweet tatie chips i have ever had (no lie in my 25 years of living these babies have topped everything so far) accompanied by VEGAN sriracha aioli.... UMMMM what more could you want?! this was my little spread from this weekend from @huntersharvest because I didn’t feel like cooking and basically didnt ALL DAMN WEEKEND, and it actually felt great! 😂 dont get me wrong i love cooking and making food from scratch, you guys know this! Especially since i’m actually a really simple eater and like to eat nutrient dense foods (most of the time) but this weekend i just couldnt be bothered with it so i didn’t! and look i still got my veggies in 😉 (im also counting sweet tatie chips as veggies thank you very much!)

but now that im finally over my little cold/flu and back to reality its also back to home cooking and putting some effort in so im currently eating a BIG bowl of stir fried veggies with rice but may or may not be wishing there was a bowl of these chippies and vegan aioli accompanying my dinner 🤭

@healthywholefood ANTIOXIDANT and OMEGA loaded warm and creamy oats for brekky this morning 🤤 i gotta say this is one of my best porridge recipes yet and its super NUTRIENT dense which is the goal when creating most meals ⚡️lately in particular I’ve been upping my hemp seed intake to bump up my daily omega’s and help lower inflammation, aaaand because they add a really yummy ‘nutty’ creamy taste to my meals whether it be on top of soup (seriously try this), in a salad dressings or in baked creations 🧁 topping my oats with these little seeds and mixing them through during cooking has been my go-to because i love the earthy nutty taste paired with slightly sweet oats and fruit 🤤

IN MY BOWL

50 grams oats
1/3 organic coconut milk
1/3 cup water
1 tablespoon @ausprimaryhemp hemp seeds
1-2 teaspoon maple syrup or honey
1 teaspoon maca powder
(mix all the above together on a stove or in a bowl and left un fridge overnight)

Topped with cacao nibs, blueberries, oranges and more hemp seeds because YUM 🤤

@healthywholefood lets talk GUT MICROBIOME and PRODUCE DIVERSITY 🌱🍋🥦 now i know how easy it is to find meals/food that you love and to stick to them (i am most definitely a meal repeat offender!!) but it is really important to rotate your fruit and veg to help increase gut microbiome diversity and to of course get a variety of vitamins and minerals into your diet! ✨

We can tend to get stuck in the rut of buying the same fruit and veg week after week as a result of routine and having certain recipes down pat and I recently caught myself out doing that so decided to give buying an organic produce box delivery service a try to 1.) up my organic produce intake and lower my pesticide exposure and 2.) to force me to be creative and cook with the variety of different seasonal fruit and veg i get surprised with each week - I actually look forward to opening my little box of surprises each week and thinking of the different things i can make and ways i can incorporate the produce into my recipes😍 for example this week i got beautiful organic eggplant and too be honest I probably havent cooked with eggplant in over a year, it’s usually put in the ‘too hard basket’ for me. BUT i ended up making one of the yummiest pasta sauces ive had in a looong time so it was a HUGE win! And my body was exposed to all the goodness of a veggie i don’t usually eat, double win🙌🏼 also another massive benefit ive noticed with @organicease produce boxes is that the fruit and veg stay fresher SO much longer, I literally had a broccoli head in the fridge for over a week and its was honestly as if i had just bought it, still so crunchy and fresh which is really really important to me as I am super against food waste 🚫 - i find a purpose/recipe/juice for every part of my fruit and veg and sourcing produce that is so fresh that it lasts over a week is a MASSIVE food saver (although it almost always gets eaten well before then) 😂
